Love..Love..Love this song!

"A Mighty Fortress" ~ Christy Nockels

listen to it here

Verse 1

Our God is a consuming fire,
A burning holy Flame, with glory and freedom
Our God is, the only righteous judge,
Ruling over us with kindness and wisdom

We will keep our eyes on You
We will keep our eyes on You

Chorus
A mighty fortress is our God
A sacred refuge is Your Name
Your Kingdom is unshakable
With You forever we will reign

Verse 3

Our God is, jealous for His own
None could comprehend, His love and His mercy
Our God is exalted on His throne
High above the heavens
Forever He's worthy...

Bridge
We will keep our eyes on You
We will keep our eyes on You
So we can set our hearts on You
Lord we will set our hearts on You!

I want God's creativity

I recently went for a trip to the beach {Destin, Fl to be exact} as a finale to the summer.. It was AMAZING!!!! I have never been to the beach, yes i know that is INSANE but coming from a large family it tends to be a bit expensive to go on vacations, so this summer I was determined to get there.

It always blows my mind about all the beautiful things in our world that God created that are magnificent! Most of the time I get too busy or caught up in the everyday that I truly forget to stop and just take it all in. Now, yes I know that Waco, Tx is not by any means anything to look at but just looking at the sky on a clear day and how many stars are out at night can be nice. It's amazing how you can really look at the world and not think that there is a God who created all of it.

I for one am going to make a conscious effort to stop and "smell the roses" more often than have been currently and really bask in the beauty God created for us to enjoy.

So back to the beach...:) I had just about the best time EVER! I would seriously considered living by one one day. Luke and I and a couple of our friends made the journey from Lorena to Florida. We stayed at a delightful condo called Ariel Dunes for a very reasonable price and will definitely be returning there on our next trip.. it's off Mirmar beach and was super pretty. We dabbled in a few of the local places and partook in some seafood of course. It rained a little while we were there and a tropical storm rolled in as we were leaving but other than that I had no complaints! We made a little detour to New Orleans on the way back to get some Beignets {haven't ever been or at one either} and WOW were they deliciousous! We made some great memories and couldn't have asked for a better time.

Here are a few pics of our little adventure;)

I ♥ the beach

Thank you for LONG weekends:)

Well ladies and gents Memorial Day weekend is upon is.. well for those who are working you have oh about 7ish hours left until you are OFFICIALLY free but I:) am off work today!

Luke and I are heading to Dallas today to do a little shopping and who knows maybe a pedi for me:) I think I deserve it! Then off to Chels' to spend that night with my lovely sista and then bright and early Saturday we are off to the great city of Nashville to visit Luke's family and celebrate his sister Abby's high school graduation. I must say that I am VERY THRILLED to get this break because after we return to Texas next week there is Chels' bachelorette party next weekend and then it's off to the MCC Child Development center for this one all summer unfortunately... So my short break to Tennessee is greatly welcomed! There will DEFINITELY be a visit to the Pancake Pantry for me, this place has the is the best breakfast ever in Nashville and I'm hoping to do some other fun things while we are there..catch some music of course and see some old friends..who know what else:)

Hope you have a safe, fun, AND relaxing LOOOONNNGGG weekend whatever you may be doing:)

~Peace......

Tim Hughes song

"God Of Justice"

God of Justice, Saviour to all
Came to rescue the weak and the poor
Chose to serve and not be served

Jesus, You have called us
Freely we've received
Now freely we will give

We must go live to feed the hungry
Stand beside the broken
We must go
Stepping forward keep us from just singing
Move us into action
We must go

To act justly everyday
Loving mercy in everyway
Walking humbly before You God

You have shown us, what You require
Freely we've received
Now freely we will give

Fill us up and send us out
Fill us up and send us out
Fill us up and send us out Lord

Fun ideas!

These are both FABULOUS ideas in my opinion and they seem sooo very easy to do.. I love them but would probably chose different colors then she did but nonetheless great tips.. check out her blog!

#1
Wall Hangings

All you'll need is 3 coordinating fabrics, some hot glue, and 3 artist's canvasses. The canvasses I got are 11x13 inches and I got 1/2 yard of each color of fabric.

Now, simply lay your fabric over your canvas. Fold the fabric over and around the sides, making sure to keep the fabric smooth and tight. Apply plenty of glue to the back but don't worry what the back looks like.......no one will ever see it. But don't apply glue to the front or sides, the glue will make the fabric appear bumpy and messy

.
Final product!

#2
Great option for jazzing up your plan 'ole average whiteboard:)

All I did was hot glue some fabric around the inside mat of a 14 x 18 inch frame, put the glass back in, set the fabric covered mat back inside the frame, return the back section to its spot, and then hang.

**You are actually writing on the glass that you put back in the frame. It wipes off just the same as a dry erase board. So nice.

Ahhhhhhhh:)

I watched this movie tonight on tv {I can't believe I don't own it}.. it's about the millionth time I've seen it...It's just one of those movies that I really NEVER get tired of watching. One of my favorite lines in the movie is when Kate Winslet is talking to Jack Black about why she came to LA , she says and I quote:

"I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually ache in places you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends... you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did wrong or how you could have misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think that you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that he'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new. And you'll meet people who make you feel worthwhile again. And little pieces of your soul will finally come back. And all that fuzzy stuff, those years of your life that you wasted, that will eventually begin to fade." ---ah!

I would like to say most of us gals have probably experienced what she's talking about but I hope that most of you haven't. If you have thank the Lord for those things fading!:)

If you haven't seen this movie go watch it.. you won't be disappointed! Great flick!

Nothing too exciting went on this weekend in my life...I'm going to get my hair did tomorrow:) I love going to the salon, there is nothing like it! Have a blessed week whatever you have going on. Know God is in control and let the weight of life be lifted in that truth!

~Peace

Kari Jobe "Sweep Me Away"

I thought this song was especially appropriate since Easter is tomorrow.. It's a good reminder of what the Lord did so long ago on the cross for all this Earth. My Savior has RISEN and I owe him everything I am and have! THANK YOU FATHER:)

"Father, I love your ways
You came in Your mercy and dies in my place
All I can do is bow
Because of Your goodness and Your sovereign grace

That You sweet me away, sweet me away in Your love
Where nothing else matters
Sweep me away, sweep me away in Your love
Where nothing else matters

Tears rolling down my face
Because of Your love and your sweet embrace
The peace that just overflows
It's here that I know You have been waiting to

Sweep me away, sweep me away in Your love
Where nothing else matters
Sweep me away, sweep me away in Your love
Where nothing else matters

(Sweep me away, sweep me away)
Just You and me Lord
Sweep me away
(Sweep me away, away in Your love)
Sweep me away in You love
Oh , away in Your love, sweep

Sweep me away, sweep me away in Your love
Where nothing else matters
Sweep me away, sweep me away in Your love
Where nothing else matters

Just You and me, just You and me
Sweep me away, oh Lord

Your grace, it covers me
Your love, it covers me
Oh God, You cover me

Your grace, it covers me
Your love, it covers me
Oh God, You cover me"

S.B. 2009

Well Spring Break was a bit of a let down. It felt like it ended on the Tuesday after it started because it rained and was freezing cold outside. I think it rained for like three straight days...=( We needed the rain don't get me wrong but it prevented us from getting out and doing ANYTHING! Hopefully it will pay off and there will be a billion bluebonnets!! Luke and I were going to take a trip to San Antonio and go to the river walk and roam around the city but as you already know that was shot once the rain came. The only plus to it being rainy and cold outside was that I got to spend some QUALITY time with my love=) We had many opportunities to cuddle up on the couch with a blanked and catch many a flick... It was so nice being with Luke for a few days STRAIGHT without any work or school or other obligations there to interrupt us. There is no one that I enjoy spending time with more than that man.. We laugh and just enjoy each others company and it's so nice to have someone to do that with.

In addition to doing that with Luke, my mom and I made Chelsey's 200 wedding invitations OURSELVES! Unless you just want to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on invitations making your own is a great alternative. That way you get to pick exactly what you want color and pattern wise and how you want it to look and plus it's more personalized AND is a fraction of the cost! There are so many great idea's out there for the taking. There are all sorts of card making books that give great ideas and you'd be surprised at what's out there if you just have the time to look. Here is one website that I like The only downside to making your own is that you have to go out and find all the supplies.. colors of paper specifically can be a pain...otherwise it's a great way to cut cost.. I mean because honestly most people will throw them away or lose them.

How did your S.B. turn out??

Memories............

So I substituted 2nd graders today and we went to the museum at Baylor.. we of course had to ride the bus over to Baylor and I haven't been on a bus since I was in high school..

Being on the bus just made me remember all the times that I stepped on and rode the "yellow dog" as my dad likes to say=).. and smelling the smells and being tossed around on the bumpy ride (most people hate it but I always enjoyed it)..made me miss playing volleyball and especially basketball.. isn't it funny how a smell can trigger your memory..??

I remember being in sweats or shorts and piling onto the bus with my two ton sports bag filled with EVERYTHING I could possibly want/need.. my ipod and pillow and a blanket were a MUST! It was nice mellowing out for a short or long while, depending on how far we had to drive to face our opponents and preparing for the game I was about to play usually surrounded by my sweet friends at the back of the bus far away from the annoying underclassmen:)~ The ride home usually consisted of some sort of silliness and talk about the boys we liked or dreading how much we were going to have to run the next day at practice. Those were some of the most fun memories to me. No it wasn't anything EXTRAORDINARY but it was simple times and simple fun. I will always miss playing basketball and wish I had pursued it in college.

You never know what you are going to encounter each day that will take you back in time.....

It's hump day yay!! Weekend come on and get here!

Francesca Battistelli: My Paper Heart

"Beautiful, Beautiful" ~Francesca Battistelli

Don't know how it is You looked at me
And saw the person that I could be
Awakening my heart
Breaking through the dark
Suddenly Your grace

Like sunlight burning at midnight
Making my life something so
Beautiful, beautiful
Mercy reaching to save me
All that I need
You are so
Beautiful, beautiful

Now there's a joy inside I can't contain
But even perfect days can end in rain
And though it's pouring down
I see You through the clouds
Shining on my face

Like sunlight burning at midnight
Making my life something so
Beautiful, beautiful
Mercy reaching to save me
All that I need
You are so
Beautiful, beautiful

I have come undone
But I have just begun
Changing by Your grace

Like sunlight burning at midnight
Making my life something so
Beautiful, beautiful
Mercy reaching to save me
All that I need
You are so beautiful

Like sunlight burning at midnight
Making my life something so
Beautiful, beautiful
Mercy reaching to save me
All that I need
You are so
Beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful, beautiful

Devotional

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law oh Christ." Galatians 6:2

This is from a Women of Faith book called "Irrepressible Hope" and this particular devotional was written by Nicole Johnson and is titled "Stained-Glass Redemption"

I will just paraphrase the story.. Basically Nicole talks about how she was moving across the country and how most of her loved possessions were broken in the moving process (her great grandmother's antique rocking chair's arm was broken in two and her stained glass was shattered)..Things that were irreplaceable and held a special place in her heart were broken forever. She talks about how she actually felt like her own arm had been broken off and how she just cried.. I think we have all been in this situation where something precious to us has been broken or ruined beyond repair. She went on to say how a friend helped her pick up the pieces of glass and throw them away.

She says that on the journey of life many things that are most personal to us and have enormous value get broken. It makes us feel wounded, shattered and things that were once whole are in pieces on the ground and we often don't know what to do next...We often cry and grieve then after a while we start to pick up the pieces and clean up the mess. Sometimes we see another pair of hands lean down and help pick up the pieces and these hands help heal and hold along with our broken dreams.

Later in the story she tells about her friend that helped pick up the pieces of glass and how she took them to a women who made a whole new piece of art using those broken pieces. She talks about how beautiful it is to her because of all the brokenness it came from.

This is my favorite part of the story....Nicole says....
"This is the most powerful picture of what we are to do with all the broken pieces of our live.. When we are shattered, wounded, and fragmented by life, we should never throw away the pieces. After we cry and grieve, then we need to bend down and start to pick them up. Then with other helping hands, we bring the pieces to God. And the Craftsman redeems them. He makes them something new, beautiful, interesting, and WHOLE. And his light shines through it, showing off all the colors and shapes of our brokenness."

I can't say that everyone has had some instance in their life that they have been so wonded and broken from a situation.. I know I have though and I am/have been picking up the broken pieces and handing them to the Lord to make something beautiful in my life out of the pieces. Life is hard and I'm learning this more and more over the past few years. Sometimes its going to be pretty overwhelming and hard but know there is someone who can make sense and something beautiful out of all the whirlwind gives me some peace.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday and start to the week! Be a blessing to someone today:o)

Valentine's Day '09

So this Valentine's day was a good one:o) Luke and I made the decision to go out on Friday night instead of actual "Valentine's Day" to miss all the crazy rush...and it was a grand idea! Instead of waiting for 2 or more hours to eat we waited like 15mins.. Plus I figured all the rest of my family would be going out and no one would want to stay home with the kiddos so thus Friday was valentines:o). We went to a restaurant called BJ's in temple. We've been to the one in Dallas and really liked it and they just opened one in Temple. We had a good time together.. got dressed up (well for us, haha) and enjoyed a night together.

As for gifts Luke is an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and I found him some shirts since he's going to opening day in April and needs to be decked out... I also got him an egg create for his bed, he's been wanting one for a while and now is sleeping comfortably:o)

He got me my beautiful flowers as you can see from the pictures, a couple of shirts I wanted, the dvd of John Mayer's concert in L.A., and a new camera..

I'd say he got jipped a bit but hey you're suppose to spoil the girl right??:o)

Needless to say I am a very lucky girl and I'm very glad that this man is in my life!! Luke is wonderful to me AND puts up with me, haha.. When he came down here spring break 2 years ago and told me he wanted to be with me, I told him he couldn't handle me.. He tells me today that I was right:o) But obviously he loves me and CAN put up with me and I couldn't have wished and prayed for a better man...

Kari Jobe

"My Beloved"

You're My Beloved
You're My Bride
To sing over you is My delight
Come away with Me My love

You're Beautiful to Me
So beautiful to Me

Under My mercy
Come and wait
Till we are standing face to face
I see no stain on you
My child

You're Beautiful to Me
So Beautiful to Me

I sing over you My song of peace
Cast all your cares down at My feet
Come and find your rest in Me

I'll breathe My life inside of you
I'll bear you up on eagle's wings
And hide you in the shadow of My strength
I'll take you to My quiet waters
I'll restore your soul
Come rest in Me and be made whole

You're My beloved
You're My Bride
To sing over you is my delight
Come away with me my love

Low Ride-er:o)

Yay!! Luke is getting a new/old:o) car.. His grandpa found him a '90 honda civic that only has like 70,000 miles on it.. This elderly lady bought it and really never drove it and it's basically been parked at her house for well a WHILE...It gets good gas mileage even if it's not the newest car off the lot but it will do! Sure it would be nice to get a brand new shiny car but let's face it we are in our 20s and that's just not feasible financially at the moment.. if it gets you to and fro and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to keep gas in it who cares how old it is:o) We have been praying for a car for a while since we've been sharing my car for the last while. This of course means that I will be getting a "real" job now, haha. Thank you Jesus for answering our prayers in your divine timing...

If you watched that video from my post yesterday here are the lyrics to the song that was playing during it and I absolutely love it and thought I would share them with you! I don't know about you but I like to see the words to songs.. to me it gives the song more meaning.

"You are my strength"~ By: Hillsong

You are my strength
Strength like no other
Strength like no other
Reaches to me
You are my hope
Hope like no other
Hope like no other
Reaches to me

In the fullness of your grace
In the power of your name
You lift me up
You lift me up

Unfailing love
Stronger than mountains
Deeper than oceans
Reaches to me

Your love oh Lord
Reaches to the heavens
Your faithfulness
Reaches to the skies

C.S. Lewis and Cardboard Testimony

" God, who foresaw your tribulation, has specially armed you to go through it, not without pain but without stain." -C.S. Lewis

Good ole C.S. he was a brilliant Irishman:o)

At the bottom of the page is a website for a thing called Cardboard testimonies.. and it is just what it says people putting their testimonies on cardboards and proclaiming them to everyone. This one came from a Church of Christ church and it really moved me when I watched it and hope it will do the same for you. My cardboard would probably say "broken and bruised heart--------piece by piece put back together through Jesus Christ"..

What would yours say?

Take a few mintues to click and watch.. it's worth it I PROMISE!

Love it!

"The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing---it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of Divine accident."

~Horace Walpole

I've been with my "Divine accident" for almost two years...I love you Luke Adam Price!!!

Restoration

Jeremy Camp "Restored"

All this time I've wandered around
Searching for the things I'll never know
I've been searching for this answer that
Only will be found in Your love

And I feel it my heart is being mended by Your touch
And I hear it Your voice that's shown my purpose in this world

You have restored me from my feeble and broken soul
You have restored me (2x)

I've only come to realize my strength will be made perfect at Your throne
Laying all reflections down to see the precious beauty that You've shown

And I feel it my heart is being mended by Your touch
And I hear it Your voice that's shown my purpose in this world

You have restored me from my feeble and broken soul
You have restored me (2x)

Laying all these questions down
You've answered what I need
You've given more than I deserve
You're making me complete

You've given all these open doors
I'm humbled at Your feet
Show me what You've done for me

~This song is a little bit of a reflection of how I'm feeling at this time.. I'm glad my God specializes in restoration!:o)
